Today's aerospace market values a supplier's ability to design, develop and manufacuture and deliver integrated systems.Mechanical Systems responded to this demand by strategically positioning itself to provide a broad portfolio of equipment, ranging from customized hydraulic components such as actuators, locks, reservoirs, fuses and accumulators, through to fully integrated landing gear actuation systems, including hardware, control software and position sensing.
Our capabilities include fully integrated landing gear extension and retraction systems, where we take fully responsibility for the sizing of components, the interaction between them, and managing, supplying and integrating the electronic control hardware and software. We also offer a total in-house certification test capability.
Our designs are optimized to provide customers with significant benefits in terms of cost, minimal weight and exceptional reliability. An ongoing research and development program, supporting all our products, continually challenges technology barriers. This is evident in the latest generation of titanium components, which operate at 5000psi to suit the growing demand for low weight, high pressure systems.

Mechanical Systems supplies most of the world's leading aircraft and landing gear manufacturers and has equipment flying on all the Airbus and Boeing large civil programs, as well as on regional, business jet and military aircraft. We provide specialist main landing gear sidestay actuators for Bombardier's CRJ, Global Express, CL604 and Continental jet aircraft, and on Raytheon's Hawker Horizon program.
We design and manufacture both single and two-stage locking actuators for various applications, including landing gear doors, on many new platforms, ranging from Cessna's new business jet to the technically demanding Bell/Boeing V-22 Osprey.
MechanicalSystems provides control valves for hydraulic systems, landing gear systems and braking systems, with numerous functions and modes of operation. Some designs feature zero leakage seals. Many of the valve designs are integrated into complete actuation control and distribution systems, allowing compact and lightweight solutions such as Agusta Bell's AB139 multi-role helicopter and the Airbus A320 landing gear door system.
We have unique experience with a line of specialized energy management products ranging from simple hydraulic dampers/snubbers to pneumatic actuation and control within weapon stores systems. Our holdback bars for aircraft carrier launch of Naval fighters utilize proven actuation lock segment design in developing the worlds only patented repeatable release holdback bar.
All these specialized technologies can be integrated to create a complete system, such as the landing gear extension and retraction system for the new Airbus A380. This complete system includes the electronic control, sequencing and operation of the landing gear and associated bay doors, including electromechanical uplocks, hydraulic actuators and control valves, data concentrators, sensors and electronics.
