These displays and systems will be developed and manufactured at Smiths Aerospace U.S. facilities in Florida, Michigan and Washington, in the UK at Cheltenham and in Orillia, Ontario Canada. The U.S. Air Force and Navy plan to buy 782 T-6A’s, including the first 168 already on contract under low-rate initial production. The JPATS consists of the T-6A Texan II aircraft, simulators, instructional courseware and other support to train entry-level Air Force and Navy student pilots in primary flying skills. The T-6A is designed to replace the Air Force’s T-37B and Navy’s T-34C aircraft.
