Smiths creates strength in Asia Pacific region

Farnborough – 22 July 2002 – Smiths Aerospace today announces the forming of an Asia Pacific Systems Customer Services business supplying technical and logistical support along with repair and overhaul services. The business provides a single focal point for Smiths Aerospace customers and is strategically situated with headquarters in Brisbane, Australia and additional sites in Newcastle and Singapore. Dr. John Ferrie, Smiths Aerospace Group Managing Director noted, “The combined strength of the business enhances our responsiveness in the region and delivers greater value to our Asia Pacific customers.”

Capitalising on its comprehensive repair capabilities for avionics, the new business will provide an enhanced level of customer support and technical assistance through the introduction of propeller, actuation and hydraulic repair and overhaul capabilities.
