Bloomfield appointed to NBC Industry Group Board

28 July 2003

Neil began his career as an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering apprentice at Rolls Royce, Watford, England. In 1986, Neil moved to Graseby Dynamics (now Smiths Detection) and was soon responsible for marketing chemical warfare detection equipment to several global territories including Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Pacific Rim, South Africa, Southern Europe, Canada and the USA. During this time Neil attended and presented to several NATO Panel VII meetings.

In 1997 he moved to Virginia, USA to establish the US Sales and Marketing Office, at which time he established corporate membership of the NBC Industry Group. Neil returned to the UK in 2001 as Sales and Marketing Director responsible for worldwide marketing of the Watford, England site's products. A key part of the role was to influence the company's IR&D investment, heavily reflecting on the company's drive toward new biological warfare detection techniques. Following the creation of Smiths Detection in July 2002, Neil returned to the US to take up his current position of Vice President, Tactical Systems.

Neil has obtained his Engineering qualifications at St Albans College, England and a Diploma in Management Studies and the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma at the University of Hertfordshire, England. Neil is married with three children and now resides in Bel Air, Maryland.
