Smiths supplies pneumatic valves, windshield temperature controllers and actuators from their Rockford, Illinois facility for the Embraer ERJ 145, Embraer 170/190 and ALX programmes. Embraer made the announcement in conjunction with their partners & suppliers conference on June 28 in Brazil. Smiths was one of eight winners who received awards.

In their respective categories, this year's eight winners include:

• Mechanical: Smiths Aerospace

• Hardware: Stanley Aviation

• Electro-Electronic: Eldec Corporation - Crane Aerospace

• Structure and Interior: C & D Aerospace, Inc.

• Technical Support to Operators: Hamilton Sundstrand Power Systems

• Material Support to Operators: The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company

• Programmes under Development: C & D Aerospace, Inc.
