Smiths’ engineers boost Project Management Chapter with highest per-capita certifications

John Alber, vice president of engineering, commented, "Our customers are expecting us to play an even greater role in the project management of their major programs. By certifying our engineers, we confirm Smiths' position as a Tier 1 supplier. These skills are an asset to the continued growth of the company."

The criteria for achieving PMP certification include:

  • 4,500 hours of project management experience

  • 36 hours of accredited project management training hosted by Smiths Aerospace

  • Pass the Project Management Institute certification exam

  • On-going commitment to 60 hours of certified education over the next three years

The Project Management Institute (PMI) is the professional body that represents project managers across the globe with more than 250,000 professionals in 125 countries. The West Michigan PMI Chapter was founded in 1969. Through seminars and educational programs, the Chapter provides a professional framework for education and networking in project management.
