Model 2584 series Flat Panel Multipurpose Control Display Unit is an ARINC-739A compatible control/display unit.  The MCDU is designed for high utility and broad functionality, and can be fitted on a number of aircraft types. It is standard production on new Boeing 737 airplanes.
The broad utility of the MCDU permits applications as a control/display for the Global Positioning System (GPS), ACARS, Flight Management System, Digital Flight Recorder, or SATCOM.
The MCDU can receive software upload data via a standard ARINC-615 Data Loader to accommodate software modifications.
It features a full-color AMLCD display and has graphical interface for character and bitmap presentation. Customer options include alternate back-up navigation, uplink of graphical weather maps and a keyboard option with FANS-1 functions.
