GE Control and Display Units are the flight crew’s primary interface for Flight Management System operations. The units currently in production feature Active Matrix Liquid Crystal Display (AMLCD) for long life and low power. Models with a number of user ports in addition to the FMS are called Multipurpose Control Display Units (MCDU).  The user ports are defined in ARINC-739A.
