The Procedure Design Tool (PDT) is a unique resource to review and develop flight procedures. Using actual packed Navigation Data Base data and rehosted Flight Management System software, the PDT provides a high fidelity capability to plot and predict actual flight path data. Users can review routes and data in the same presentation as the flight crew but much more rapidly and for a variety of aircraft and environmental conditions.
The PDT has ability to overlay the FMS flight profile on terrain data along with display of the RNP containment area. This is particularly useful in developing RNP departure and arrival procedures in mountainous areas.
