AN/ASQ-215 Digital Data Set(DDS) has been recognized as the standard data loader/recorder for the U.S. Navy. The DDS supports rapid initialization of avionics suites via the MIL-STD-1553 data bus, in flight recording of mission and maintenance data, data filtering and processing, and the execution of user generated programs. With the use of the PCMCIA Data Transfer Module, the unit adds memory through two PCMCIA cards. The unit serves as the transportable storage medium for both pre and post mission information exchanges between the ground computer stations and the airborne system.
