PCMCIA Data Transfer Set (PD-DTS)
The PD-DTS is a high capacity, solid state data storage and retrieval system which utilizes the commercial standard PCMCIA interface to support airborne data transfer and storage needs. Interfaces to the unit include MIL-STD-1553 and SCSI-2. The latest upgrade to this unit includes the incorporation of video recording. With the incorporation of H.264 technology, a single channel of video can be recorded on a PCMCIA card for playback at the Army Mission Planning Ground Station. The video can also be played back in the cockpit for immediate review by the pilots. The unit incorporates either three or four PCMCIA cards for mass storage. The small, light unit is perfect for rotorcraft applications and has been qualified on the U.S. Army's OH-58D Kiowa Warrior. |
