The Hose Drogue Controller is an integrated Line Replaceable Unit containing the hardware and software necessary to control a refueling mission via the NATO compatible hose and drogue method. The HDC is the electronics controller for the 767 Global Tanker and Transport Aircraft Hose Drum Unit (HDU) and Wing Aerial Refueling Pod (WARP) units. The HDC manages the HDU/WARP electronics to trail and rewind the refueling hose smoothly, detect receiver aircraft attachment, maintain tension on the hose when a receiver aircraft is attached, and regulate fuel delivery. Other HDC tasks include monitoring the system for faults and data collection for post mission analysis.
