General Purpose Processor Module

The Flight Management System function is provided as embedded software on a General Purpose Module for installation in the customer's VME64-compatible Mission Computer. The civil FMS functions, compliant with the RNP-RNAV requirements, are integrated with customer-provided mission functions for seamless system operation. The FMS software design is derived from the Boeing 737 FMS, making it easy to keep up to date with changing civil airspace requirements.
Although interface with the Mission Computer is through the VME64 bus, the GPM includes optional interfaces for MIL-STD-1553 and Ethernet.

  • 800 MHz MPC7457 processor

  • 128 MB 32-bit FLASH/512 MB 64-bit SDRAM interface to mission computing

  • 32 MB 64-bit SDRAM mailbox memory

  • 2 10/100 Ethernet channels

  • Optional 400MHz MPC7410 or MPC8270 PowerQuicc II processor with MIL-STD-1553 and additional 10.100 Ethernet channel
