GE first Power Management System was for the Apache AH-64D developed in the early 1990's. The success of this system in reducing life cycle cost, system weight and aircraft build time whilst providing a fault tolerance system with automatic load switching spurred the Power and Utility System developed for the B777. In the Fast Jet market and with the advance of Solid State distribution techniques, harnessing reliable, intelligent solid state high power and digital electronics, together with the flexibility of software to replace traditional Electro-mechanical technology, the JSF Electrical Power Management System is being developed offering extremely lightweight designs, qualified for severe military environments. All these systems are supported by extensive Systems Integration Lab facilities. With the development of the GE Modular Power Tile (MPT) as a Systems building block and the Certified Requirements Capture Tools used to configure Remote Interface Units on many platforms, we can offer systems that are highly configurable and easily certifiable.
