GE produces a range of complex fairings and panels, particularly the Boeing C-17 Flap Hinge Fairings and Wing Trailing Edge Panels.

The Fairings form the aerodynamic covering for the flaps mechanism and comprise a forward fixed and a moveable aft fairing, The forward fairing is a composite and metallic structure to which are attached carbon fibre\epoxy resin cover panels, stiffened by nomex honeycomb. The moveable aft fairings are constructed from solid laminate mouldings and honeycomb stiffened external panels. The Panels range from 2 to 40sq.ft in surface area and are constructed from carbon fibre\epoxy resin, stiffened with nomex honeycomb core.
