Modular Processing Systems

GE Modular Processing Systems (MPS), combines multiple functions into a common processing resource, reducing weight and costs by eliminating the need for several computers. We are a tier 1 supplier on Boeing 787, C-130 AMP, Boeing's 767 tanker and MMA.

By hosting multiple aircraft functions, our technology can be applied to many aircraft systems including Integrated Avionics Systems, Integrated Utility Systems and Actuation Systems.

MPS has several attributes that make it industry-leading technology:

  • Our open architecture system allows third party companies to integrate their applications into the MPS without difficult proprietary software or interfaces.

  • The easy-to-use tool set and input/output catalogues allow for efficient integration of third party functions by individual sub-system suppliers.

  • Partitioned architecture and high-integrity computing allow for the safe operation of several functions within one system.

GE expertise in MPS gives us a significant tier 1 capability that will fuel business growth by integrating several systems, increasing our role as a partner to aircraft manufacturers. We also face significant opportunities with UAV/UCAVs, demonstrated by GE's recent win on the Northrop Grumman X47.

GE Modular Processing System is also known as IMA - Integrated Modular Avionics or Architecture and CCS - Common Core Systems.
